Another day, another beauty tag! Today, I will share the best and worst of my blush collection using the Blush Tag.
The Blush Tag appears to have been started several years ago but has been re-circulating again on YouTube. Some of favorite beauty creators – – Jessica Braun and Mandy Lea – – both shared their version of this Blush Tag and I loved their take. Be sure to check out their videos as well!
Without further ado, please enjoy my rendition of the Blush Tag!

Newest Blush
Hourglass Ambient Face Palette – Sculpture ($80)
The newest “blush” to my collection is part of the 2020 Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette release, Sculpture. While certainly an investment, the Hourglass face powder formulas is one of my all-time favorites. The two new blush shades, Vibrant Flush (bright coral pink) and Mood Exposure (soft plum) are perfect new staples in my collection.

oldest blush
Tarth Cheek Palette – Blush Bazaar (no longer available)
Originally retailing for $44, my oldest blush is Tarte’s limited release cheek palette from several years ago. I used this blush palette so much (and it shows!). One could arguably have ONLY this palette and nothing else. I would love for Tarth to release a newer version since mine is certainly showing its age and doesn’t perform as well anymore. =(

Most expensive individual blush
Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand ($38)
My most expensive blush is my Charlotte Tilbury beauty light wand. If you’re looking for a beautiful cream blush and highlighter in one, this is one of the very best. The packaging is not the easiest to work with but I am willing to overlook it for how beautiful this looks every. single. time.

most affordable individual blush
elf Cosmetics Bite-Size Face Duo ($3)
At the exact opposite end of the scale, my most affordable blush is my elf face duo, shown in shade spiced apple. All of the shades in these duos are really beautiful and you cannot go wrong with a price tag of $3.

Blush worth the hype
Flower Beauty Blush Bombs ($10)
One of the easiest categories to decide was my blush the completely worth the hype. The Flower Beauty blush bombs – – particularly in the shade pinched – – are one of my very favorite formulas. They are very easy to use, even for a cream/liquid blush novice.

Blush not worth the hype
I selected what will likely be an unpopular choice for my blush that I considered not worth the hype – – and that would be the Nars Orgasm blush. Not only am I not a fan of the name but I just don’t understand why it’s so popular. I’ve given it a fair shot in multiple formulas – – stick, cream, liquid and powder — and still just don’t get it. There’s way better in the market, in my opinion.

most underrated blush
Clinique Cheek Pop in Pink ($26)
While it may not be the most underrated blush ever – – it certainly is the most underrated in my collection. I bought this blush on a whim, not having tried anything from Clinique in a very long time. I was pleasantly surprised and very rarely hear anyone talk about these but the pigment and color are really fantastic.

favorite producT from favorite brand
Benefit Cosmetics CheekLeaders Palette ($60)
This palette from Benefit Cosmetics is definitely a favorite of mine. I bought this because it seemed like an excellent way to get to try out several the very popular shades of the Benefit box blushes. And that turned out to be so true, so much so, one of these shades has turned out to be the shade I use the most. This Cheekleaders palette is no longer available but a similar one (with even more fun shades is) and I would definitely recommend picking it up.

everyday / most used blush
Benefit Cosmetics Mini Blush – Dallas ($17)
While I don’t own the individual Benefit Cosmetics box blush in Dallas, it is by far my most used and best everyday blush in my collection. I only have the shade in the Benefit Cosmetics Cheekleaders palette but I haul this palette out A LOT to dip into the Dallas blush. It looks so deceiving in the pan, like it should be more of a blush but it’s perfect and flattering on the cheeks – – I love it so, so much.

most disappointing blush
Physician’s Formula Multicolor Stick ($12)
My most disappointing blush is the Physician’s Formula Multicolor Stick. Now I’ll start by saying that my complexion is combination-oily and so the same issues I have with this blush – – not staying in place and disappearing on my face – – may not happen to those with dryer complexions. But there are so many who really love this that I was really disappointed to find it didn’t work for me, at all, no matter how hard I tried.

most surprising blush
Fenty Cream Blush – Fuego Flush ($20)
The most surprising blush in my collection came from a recommendation from Allie Glines. Allie is also fair-complected and so I HAD to try this orange blush that she raved about and looked incredible on her on camera. And it did not disappoint. I wore this a ton in the summer months after purchasing it as it looks even more incredible with a tan. Definitely something I never would have tried on my own but am so glad I did.

best blush palette
Hourglass Ambient Quad – Ghost (no longer available)
While I featured several blush palettes in my blush tag favorites, I do think that the Hourglass blush formula is one of the single best. For that reason, I had to include the Hourglass Ambient Lighting quad as the my choice for best blush palette. While the “Ghost” version is no longer available, Hourglass recently released their “Sculpture” quad and also featured four shades of their amazing blushes. While it’s definitely an investment (retailing for $60), it’s a great value for four of the Hourglass shades.
